As a successful vendor at the Carmel Farmers Market, Stephanie Lewis understands the challenges of preparing food in rented kitchens. She created Carmel’s Kitchen to give food vendors and caterers a clean, well-appointed, and affordable location for preparing their wares.

Walking Waffle Company

First-time visitors to Carmel’s Farmers Market often notice fellow shoppers grinning with delight as they bite into something unusual. As the proprietress of the Walking Waffle Company, Stephanie Lewis and her family serve up freshly cooked Liege waffles — dense, sugary Belgian treats made with imported pearl sugar. Stephanie, her husband, and their children stay busy keeping up with the demand. By day, the UNC graduate works in accounting for an Indianapolis manufacturer, does radio and TV commercials, and serves as an emcee for events.
